Ah yes, the recipe for burn out
Hell yeah looks promising

RelatableEnglish31·1 month agoLMAO I “found out” when I was sobbing at the bench press about how I couldn’t even exercise properly because I had gotten up to do dishes mid set. I saw some memes about ADHD brains and I was like, oh maybe that’s what’s wrong with me…
Arcanepotato@crazypeople.onlineto ADHD memes@lemmy.dbzer0.com•You did it, c/ADHD! I'm finally one of usEnglish23·1 month agoWelcome, friend
I was so convinced I ruined my hearing with rock and roll music but no, my brain just don’t work good.
I fluctuate between:
- “I’ve been doing this for a long time”
- “I’m very good at googling”
- “Autism”
It’s me. I’m disorder.
Arcanepotato@crazypeople.onlineto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•what are the grievances with the "male loneliness epidemic"? [close this topic maybe?]English265·1 month agoTwo criticisms that come to mind are:
- the cause of the epidemic is the patriarchy, therefore it’s men’s own fault, i.e. the rigid gender roles and “man up attitude” are within the power of individual men to overcome and they just need to um… man up and break down those barriers.
- the cause of the epidemic is men trying to cling to the benefits they would have otherwise under the patriarchy and it’s a reaction to non-men having more status and freedom.
(Before you hit reply please remember OP didn’t ask for an discussion on if these are real or correct - just what some of the criticisms are. I’m not saying I buy into either of them.)
The meds help for sure but they haven’t quite made me a human being yet.
I keep telling myself my burnout (which lead to finding out I’m AuDHD) is because of menopause which I don’t think has actually started yet…so absolutely not looking forward to it actually happening.
I’m going to fill the tub with e gel and just live in it.

Arcanepotato@crazypeople.onlineto ADHD memes@lemmy.dbzer0.com•A post about substituting "street drugs"?English8·2 months agoI’ve heard people saying cocaine worked well for them, even though you mention it wasn’t great for you. I unknowingly self medicated with waaaay too much caffeine and ephedrine in university.
I’m way too scared of the toxic drug supply to try street drugs nowadays. I guess the war on drugs is winning against me lol? If I was going to try street drugs now I’d want to have access to drug testing kits.
Sorry it’s not a useful suggestion. I don’t want it to sound like I do this at the same time or without absolute meltdowns and disappearing for months at a time either tho, lol.
The handy thing about group activity friends is you don’t have to put in consistent effort, you just see them when you see them! 👉👉
I like to volunteer. That way there is a built-in thing to talk about, and it’s generally okay to not veer off that too much? Pick something you are interested in 😊
There are so many different ways you can volunteer and many different activities. I’ve done things as diverse as the water stations at triathlons (standing and handing things out) to being on the board of a not-for-profit (lots of meetings), to serving meals with fnb (cooking and cleaning).
I also take classes, such as in a pottery studio.
All these are opportunities to meet people and be social but with no pressure. You know you have at least one thing in common! If you find someone you vibe with them you can become closer friends but if not you still make task-specific acquaintances.
Arcanepotato@crazypeople.onlineto ADHD@lemmy.world•What are you zero-brain go-to recipes for the hard days?English3·2 months agoRice (rice cooker or microwaved from the fridge) + frozen vegetables + hummus/canned beans/edamame + fridge sauce such as chilli crisp, soy sauce, sambal oelek, etc.
Hummus + crackers
Big ol bowl of lettuce, store bought dressing, a fuck tonne of nuts.
