Posted yesterday on YouTube. Video references a 7 year old post from Datto regarding the implementation of microtransactions into Destiny. Aztecross further extrapolates how Datto’s concerns have become a reality.
I’m a regular casual player, and I have watched the microtransaction creep as well. However, I agree with the video. D2 has crossed the line into “pay to win” territory.
I remember enjoying the shit out of Tribes: Ascend. Then it died instantly the moment Hi-Rez introduced better weapons, that you could straight up buy with money.

I’ve enjoyed playing Destiny and Destiny 2 most of the last nine years, yet this creep was predicted. There are tons of complaints from the active user base about the lack of content in certain areas (primarily pvp). Now, with the largest player base Bungie has seen since release, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to get any better.
Sucks when microtransactions get in the way of a fun game. I empathize with you!
