We all know reddit was picking up the slack for google search and giving you real results from real people with real insight. I’m not going to lie: right now by trying not to click on the first reddit link I see in a google search, I dumber by the second.
What has your workaround been?
I mean, if we’re being honest, it’s going to be very difficult to try and find a work around or to not go to Reddit when needing to find some niche piece of information. Reddit is such a huge repository of the human collective that there’s not going to be a way to truly work around it for a long while. The only way to eventually get there is to keep building up this community and other communities like it. So don’t beat yourself up over needing to use Reddit from time to time.
Not exactly an alternative, but a workaround:
https://cachedview.com is an indirect way to access reddit threads using Google’s cache.
I’m not sure that it will be wholly avoidable, but I’ll only be using it logged out will Adblock on. They will be getting nothing from me.
