To anyone who hasn’t played it yet, this game kinda rules. I thought the combat was great and the story and general vibe was fantastic.
There’s a very unique spot in the game that was one of my favorite gaming experiences ever.
I agree. The game isn’t in my top 10 but that was my favorite level/mission of any game I’ve ever played.
Was it the maze?
I see a vision rising, dreary…
What a game !! Remedy does know to develop game with a good story line and story telling. I have enjoyed Max Payne, Alan Wake , Quantam Break and Control…… Don’t have powerful PC or a next gen console to play Alan Wake 2 yet !!
Alan wake 2 was a GREAT experience. Just avoid spoilers when you finally play it the wait will be worth it.
I strongly recommend this game. It’s a good mystery/WTF.
The combat feels great, and the voice acting is spectacular.
My issue is that I feel confused as hell, and did not feel like I was gaining knowledge of what was happening while playing.
Am I supposed to feel like the main character is crazy by the way she talks, such as when it zooms into her eye area, usually during a conversation with another character?
If not, that’s unfortunately why I put it down, and haven’t gone back. I also felt like I was getting lost quite a bit lost most of the time (horrible with “directions”) and was even following a complete guide at one point because I was so lost. It doesn’t help that the map menu is not really that good or in depth like I am used to in these types of games that want you to backtrack into an area for a sidequest.
I’m genuinely interested in others opinions, and how I can “git gud” and beat this game fully. :)
The earlier parts of the game can get pretty confusing but imo it does get better once you get familiar with the place. Plus all the powers and weapons are A LOT of fun. I love this game and played it nonstop during the winter holiday. I think one of the reasons why I kept playing was because of how interesting the enviornment felt. For me, it does feel like youre walking through some government building. Also, I didn’t really pay attention to the story at first but after seeing how much effort the developers put into it (like those live action TV’s), I started to actually read all those collectable documents and texts. They are pretty funny and do give the game a special charm. I promise you, if you stick with the game it will be rewarding. I do not want to spoil anything but one of the last chapters of the game has great music and is a lot of fun.
And if you ever get bored, you can always turn on all the aim assist + ability cooldown options and kill everything like a god.
This is definitely worth playing. It’s a really well made shooter and a great setting. That said, I really wish they got a bit weirder with the game. There was a lot of potential for more interesting SCP type stuff, and what is in the game is fairly vanilla. It left me feeling like it was missing something, but it’s still an incredible game.
