What can you get to within a 15-minute walk of your house?

A recent YouGov survey asked Americans what they think they should be able to get to within a 15-minute walk of their house.

Of these choices, I can currently walk to all of them from my apartment, aside from a university (no biggie, I’m not currently studying, although there is a Tafe within walking distance), a hospital, and a sports arena.

How many can you get to with a 15 minute walk from your house?

Good catch, I didn’t even pay attention to there being a bank. Let’s call it another example of this list being out of date. Who uses a physical bank? I have several within an easy walk so hadn’t paid attention.

I have actually walked to the Credit Union I’m a member at, but really only to show my kids how they work, in case they ever need it. I thought of it like cursive writing or reading an analog clock: a skill that’s no longer essential for most of us but you will still run across the need here and there

I scrolled down for a while looking if someone had mentioned the bank as that one baffles me. It’s been a few years since I walked into one, and it has probably happened 5 times in the past few decades. That one I can definitely live without it being walking distance.

That said I think the US is still heavy on cheques and people might need to actually visit a bank more often than the rest of the West
