Dont stress over not having a degree. I have one and honestly it didn’t prove anything to myself, make it a better person or any of that. I’m still paying for it. Looking back those were some of my most miserable years failing to fit in too socially. I followed some arbitrary rules and passed some classes. Guess what. It took me 7 years too. By my last year I hated my degree program and just finished because I was already in so deep. Don’t let that peice of paper and societal rubber stamp make you feel like a failure. Often times I regret going to college, since honestly it wasn’t a happy period for me and how I’ve been paying for it for 10 years now. My job I really enjoy didn’t require it and I have never used my major from my degree once. I am much happier now past that part of my life and I say this with all honesty I am glad to do be here. There are so many possibilities out there. Please don’t give up. A final solution to life’s endless possibilities is such a tragedy Please keep going. You can do this. Seek help in therapy, friends and family. Find out what makes you happy. You got this.

This exactly is my plan and feelings I was clearly dealing with depression and I was willfully trying to not address the problem for at least a year which only made it worse. Thank you.

Keeping it off for a decade id consider I win. What’s changed is, I work from home now and have a toddler. Which has changed my entire life. Bit of depression mixed in and bam. 30lb gain in a year.

This article inspired me to look into blocking more of androidtv crap. I have raspberry pi running android tv with lineage kongs image and it’s fully functional snappy and works great. Liked it so much when it was time to get a TV I opted for an Android TV based one, what I was using on that tv was a android tv that was bloated and slow to the point of an annoyingly laggy interface, sometimes even failing to load apps sometimes without launching it twice. Turns out I added an additional domain to my pihole that blocks the discoverability crap. Now my home screen looks more like my raspberry Pi’s and my tvs interface is so much more responsive. This is such a pain in the ass. I don’t understand how non tech people put up with ads all day.

Same thing I’ve noticed with invidious instances lately. My clipious on Android is broken more often than not. Freetube still seems solid although I think they each use different apis.

Pretty much the same here. the storage to quality ratio isn’t a big enough difference to make it worth it to me for anything over 1080. 720p is noticable but I’ll still use it no problem.

Can confirm. Pi-hole does not block YouTube smart TV app ads. Hasn’t for a long time (2018ish?)

Torrents yes, always VPN. If you’re doing the debrid route, not required but personally I still do.

I am a big fan of mullvad VPN as they take no info from you to create an account. Can pay with crypto. No name, email or anything tied to their service. Used proton, nord and pia in the past.

Not sure about your asks specifically but give smartlauncher a try. Even though it has a PAID version I’ve used the free version for like a decade.
