If you don’t remove play service and shit without being unable to use payment apps and other shut, it’s not gonna work for majority. Those are worst offenders that have to be removed for privacy.

If privacy is important, a custom ROM is highly recommended or rather mandatory. Most brands have locked boot loader which can’t be unlocked immediately without voiding warranty. Some let you to using some bs proprietary software but only after few months. That was the only reason I had to resort to getting a pixel. So look into all the brands available to you and check their policy on custom rooms before looking into the mobile themselves.

I also paid full price and bought it from an official store with no connection to any carriers. Installed grapheneos and can confirm it is still present, whether anyone can use it is not is irrelevant if your putting shit in my phone that could potentially harm me. And you seem to take some kind of weird moral ground thinking people who default on a payment can have their phone which is a necessity in this era, turn into a brick if they choose to. I would say a torrent client is all you need, maybe a VPN depending on where you are from. I don’t torrent from my mobile but I do know libtorrent is available on f droid repo. Bookmark some of the trusted sites in the mega thread and once you click on the magnet link or the torrent file of what you wanna download, it should open libtorrent and asks for where to save and stuff. That’s about it. I know qbittorrent has search plugins so you can find and download within the torrent client but not sure if it’s available on lib. Good luck and always stick to safe sources and be updated on if they are still trusted and don’t cause any issues.

I already proposed doing 2:1:1 split but they weren’t comfortable with it. And 150 Mbps is more than enough for most case except downloads so I don’t see a need to upgrade for thrice the price. They did consider upgrading to unlimited because of my fuck up but since it’s my fuck up I didn’t wanna cause anymore trouble so that’s a thought for future.

Data isn’t that much around here, it is cheap but it’s still my roommates having to pay more than they use when they spend all day in office and have unlimited 5G. The 1GBps plan is also available with my ISP which is like triple of what I an posting rn. I am also not from us btw.

150 Mbps and 1500 GB limit, I would like something a little better but roommates hardly use it so didn’t wanna ask them to pay more.

Well the unlimited plans start from twice as much and 1500 gb is good enough for normal usage if your not torrenting.

On an unrelated note, I fucked up and used my limited 1.5 tb data for the month in 2 weeks because of torrent and buying extension packs for the rest of the month. At least it probably helped someone else out there.

My experience with my company is exact opposite. Apparently Bitwarden and Vivaldi are not allowed because they have a lot of vulnerabilities so people should continue using edge/chrome and a plain text for storing all their passwords that they often show it on screen share. Had an issue with 2FA cause those assholes decided it’s fun to force the Microsoft propriety authenticator for everyone so I can’t use aegis anymore. That issue took a whole fucking month to get resolved cause none of them could comprehend their almighty Microsoft app didn’t work on my grapheneos. On a unrelated note, anyone got any openings at your company?

I don’t think that particular setup has any issue but have you confirmed if it is enabled and they were copies and not hard links? Doing ls -l will show hard link count. Also all of those directories are in home folder right? I don’t think you can keep them in different partitions but don’t quote me on that.
