They’re holding, uhh…
Empricorn@feddit.nlto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•POV: Automatic Driver installation for LinuxEnglish2·4 days agoThe fact that it’s a laser printer certainly redeems you! I’m dumb and bought a decent Canon printer several years ago (do they still make them?), and have used it a few times since then. I haven’t checked recently, but am 100% certain all the cartridges are dried up. If I ever wanted to use it again, I’d have to blow out all the dust from it, clean the nozzles, buy more of all the colors (even if I’m printing b&w), and align the printing again. So much better to just go to a print shop the few rare times I’ll need it. I don’t want to make assumptions, but I bet that’s the case for most people…
Empricorn@feddit.nlto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•POV: Automatic Driver installation for LinuxEnglish7·5 days agoBut… then you’re using an HP printer. 🤮
That looks great! $100 is a steal.
And hookers. Don’t skimp!
Sounds like you got a stellar to-do list lined up! 😄
Of course there’s an XKCD for this… but how have I never seen it before!?
#ALERT!
This bun is hiding in the grass!

That is all.

Empricorn@feddit.nlto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•WTF is a rural town in the USA?English1·16 days agoSorry if I came across that way, I genuinely wasn’t intending to be condescending. The “correction” was simply me clarifying my own experience. But that image is genuinely amusing. I’ve driven through so many towns that look exactly like it!
Empricorn@feddit.nlto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•WTF is a rural town in the USA?English1·16 days agoRural towns. And yes, that’s what I’ve experienced.
Empricorn@feddit.nlto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•WTF is a rural town in the USA?English12·16 days agoI’ll give you the *second image. Like I said, I only spent a couple minutes finding them. But the *first is absolutely typical, in my experience. In small rural towns, the “downtown” is concentrated like this (maybe with 1 fewer floor, and narrower roads). I’ve seen this exact scene in multiple smaller towns, literally all over the US…

Empricorn@feddit.nlto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do people care so much that their friend or family member’s partner is attractive and not just loving?English8·16 days agobeating around the bush
everything that could possibly be sensitive
Being nervous and awkward
avoiding the elephant in the room
self consciousness
You’re literally strawman-ing what I said. Empathy is considering others. It really is that simple…
Empricorn@feddit.nlto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do people care so much that their friend or family member’s partner is attractive and not just loving?English41·17 days agoI can’t imagine caring that a happy family member or friend’s partner is less conventionally attractive, much less saying that to them!
You need to meet and surround yourself with less horrible people.
Empricorn@feddit.nlto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do people care so much that their friend or family member’s partner is attractive and not just loving?English231·17 days agoHonesty is telling the truth to people. Openness is feeling free to express yourself. Empathy is considering other people’s perspectives and taking their feelings into account. People should practice the last one before impulsively acting based on the first 2. It’s called being an adult member of society.

That was not wholesome. 🙁
