Ajzak@lemm.eeto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•This time it's really going to happen, I just know it!1·5 months agonah you don’t need dex get termux and x11 and hook it up to a monitor mouse and keyboard. Dex is way too limited for what i wanna do with a phone PC, and phones aren’t really there yet.

Ajzak@lemm.eeto Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•My SO got a steamdeck today, and it's a lot better than I imagined it to be2·5 months agoThere’s also a script for Android TV on the deck that’s pretty good, I didn’t test it yet but I’ll sure as hell be using that for my tv stuff
I’ll try it out, thanks!
The only thing I was put off by the linux way was how much setup would need to be done for making the screen vertical. Like if I had to go to desktop mode to rotate the screen every time i wanted to read manga. Whereas here i downloaded two apps, one for screen rotation control (didn’t really experiment with adding gyro for rotation control, dunno if it’s even possible) and one for manga.
Would increasing the text size help with reading? Sometimes I can’t catch details either, but with how high quality the scans and software got you can just zoom in and the 7 inch screen will help with that.
Damn, thanks for the detailed comparison! I’ll have to check it out now
what’s the difference between the two? looks to me they’re very similar.
to be honest i didn’t limit the TDP until recently when reading so I’ll do some testing, so I’ll try it out
match made in heaven honestly, big hand dream
it was indeed on 3 watts except for Android bootup which took a bit more juice.
Mihon thru Waydroid. way less hassle than anything else and android is great for touchscreen
Ajzak@lemm.eeto retrocomputing@lemmy.sdf.org•Which CD ripper utility did you use in the 00s?2·7 months agoThere’s a good mod for it now that replaces the hard drive with an adapter for two SD cards, and it would let you put a shit ton of storage on it. If you’ve got some spare cash and patience I’d definitely recommend it.
usually when you look at a rom threads’ first post you can find a telegram link
Ajzak@lemm.eeto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Flatpak haters seem to believe that if an app isn't on their distro's repos, it's the developers' fault.2·1 year agothat’s very good to hear, I’ll probably try out silverblue with distrobox and that’ll be my end of distrohopping
Ajzak@lemm.eeto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Flatpak haters seem to believe that if an app isn't on their distro's repos, it's the developers' fault.5·1 year agocould you perhaps run them with Distrobox? i was always wondering that.
So I've been using my steam deck as a laptop replacement as I'm on uni and I don't really need that much processing power on me.
If you have a good dock, some accessories and a lot of patience, it can fit the bill.
I've switched my system over to Bazzite, which is amazing because it's more up to date, and makes using the deck as a desktop very enjoyable, but it is running on the latest beta so any bugs that are on steamos 3.5 will persist here. However unfortunately it doesn't support HDR at the moment.
Even without bazzite you can easily use it as a desktop, but you do have to be aware that it isn't as strong as some laptops nowadays. (of course you could always remote connect to a desktop and do stuff there but yknow).
the damn yakuza series is amazing but sega has such a hard on for denuvo
